Drainfield Installation

Drainfield Installation in Spartanburg

The drainfield is where treated effluent leaves the tank and disperses into the soil, and it is the part of the system that fails first when it is undersized or overloaded. Cleantechfinance installs and replaces drainfields across Spartanburg using gravel trenches or plastic chamber (gravelless) systems, sized from your perc rate so the soil can absorb the daily flow without surfacing or backing up.

Why the Perc Rate Rules

A drainfield that is too small for the soil floods, and effluent works its way to the surface or back into the house. The percolation test sets the required trench length, and a distribution box splits the flow evenly across the laterals so no single trench carries the whole load. On slow soil, we may recommend a chamber field or a pressure dosed layout to spread the effluent more gently.

Our Process

We confirm the perc rate, pull the county permit, and excavate the trenches to the designed depth over washed drainfield gravel and non woven filter fabric, or set plastic leaching chambers where the design calls for them. We install or reset the distribution box, backfill, and grade the surface to shed rainwater. A failing field near Union Street can often be rebuilt without touching a sound tank.
